Policy & Advocacy

In addition to our programmatic work improving health equality, Open Paths addresses these health inequalities by influencing policy and practice. We promote the needs of our communities to the government, health providers, and other Third Sector organisations to share best practices and ensure appropriate service provision.

To achieve change, we undertake research to provide an evidence base to influence policy, contribute to policy consultations on access health matters, and conduct service evaluations. We also work with other organisations to better meet the needs of the communities we serve.

This year, we plan to host a reciprocal conversation between healthcare system leaders, academics, corporates and social thinkers to unpick the structural issues which potentially stifle the discussion on race, its role in health inequalities and the collaborative action needed to reverse poor health outcomes for refugees, migrants and minority communities in Greece.
